Allison Brooks Janney is an American actress born on November 19 1959. Throughout her career of three decades, Allison Brooks Janney has received recognition in both film and stage performances. Janney was honored with many accolades including an Academy Award and British Academy Film Award. In addition, she was awarded seven Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, two Tony Awards were nominated. Janney was born in Dayton, Ohio. She was born in and was raised in Boston. Her Kenyon College graduation earned her an award from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Janney was first seen on TV at the age of 1999. She was C. J. Cregg on NBC's political series The West Wing from 1999-2006 in which she won 4 Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney was awarded her Primetime Emmy Award in 2014 for Outstanding Actresses In Drama Series. Janney was honored with this award for her role as Margaret Scully in Showtime's drama Masters of Sex. Janney was nominated several times in the Primetime Emmy Awards and twice won Outstanding Supporting Actress Comedy Series.
